A little background of this project. The residential building at Kalnciema 116 in Riga belongs to post-war construction and was commissioned in 1956. It is characterized by high ceilings, spacious layouts, thick walls (typical for 1950s buildings) of the “Stalin-era” type. The first impression is solid, cozy, built for human comfort.
Therefore, I wanted to preserve the spirit of this building, making some layout changes in this beautiful space.
As a result, a very cozy, spacious, and aesthetic kitchen-living room was created, flowing into a cozy hall for a young family with children in one of the beautiful districts of Riga.
Here it is comfortable to gather with the whole family, host guests, or spend quiet evenings together. The interior turned out modern, light, and truly alive — a place where you want to grow, rejoice, and create your family traditions
